Join us for a comprehensive OpenSciEd High School Curriculum Launch (or Facilitator Training) to help teachers and educators acquire a complete understanding and practical skills for effectively implementing the OpenSciEd High School Curriculum in their classrooms or districts. The OpenSciEd Curriculum Launch is the essential professional learning experience to help you successfully implement this curriculum with your students. The additional experiences entailed in the Facilitator Training enable you to also train others to effectively implement these high-quality instructional materials.
Gain hands-on experience and explore best teaching practices focusing on student engagement and problem-solving. Engage in learning as your students would to better understand the cognitive demands of OpenSciEd. Experience many of the hands-on investigations and the minds-on sensemaking opportunities. Analyze classroom videos of students engaging in learning and teachers reflecting on their practice. Discover the supports and routines embedded in the program that make OpenSciEd realize the vision of the Framework for K-12 Science Education, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the PA STEELS Standards.

This professional learning opportunity for the Curriculum Launch is offered, September 9-12, 2024. Each session will run from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Fees for the Curriculum Launch: $850 per person for AIU3 educators (or other PA IU personnel) $950.00 per person from non-AIU3 school districts
The Facilitator Training adds a virtual half-day on September 6, 2024 (PM) and an in-person half-day on September 13, 2024 (AM).
Fees for the Facilitator Training: $1050 per person for AIU3 educators (or other PA IU personnel) $1150.00 per person from non-AIU3 school districts
