Focus of OpenSciEd Work
The Next Generation Science Storylines team co-led development of instructional materials for the OpenSciEd middle school science program, K-5 Health equity units, and related professional learning resources.
Supporting Equitable Science Instruction
We help teachers with professional learning anchored in their use of storyline curriculum materials. We help teachers learn to build and sustain an equitable classroom culture that supports sensemaking for all students; support productive academic discourse in their classrooms; use three-dimensional formative assessment to anchor students’ learning in their questions and ideas; and employ Universal Design for Learning strategies. We support schools and districts in making customizations of OpenSciEd resources to better support the needs of their students.
Supporting School Systems
Our team works with district leaders and teachers to plan and support sustainable, research-based, professional learning support for implementation of OpenSciEd and other NextGen Science Storyline units.
