Like many states, Connecticut has adopted OpenSciEd for the middle level model science curriculum. The approach to teaching and learning through OpenSciEd presents a challenge for school and district leaders ~~ that is, what does it look like? Many leaders in districts responsible for supporting teachers do not have a science background or are simply not familiar with the shifts in science education from The Science Framework, NGSS, and ~~ more immediately ~~ the OpenSciEd Instructional Model.

This workshop will focus on:
-The NGSS & Shifts in Science Education;
-Introduction to OpenSciEd;
-OpenSciEd Instructional Model;
-Setting Up Conditions for Success in the Classroom; and
-Visiting the OpenSciEd Classroom and Providing Feedback.
